These rich, flaky scones are easy to put together for even the most novice baker. Flavoured with juicy Sumo Citrus and studded with toasted pecans, they make for a sweet snack, dessert, or breakfast on weekend morning!
Directions
- In large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, zest, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Cut in butter, working it in until butter is in small bits. Mixture will look crumbly.
- Add 1 cup whipping cream and toasted Farm Boy™ Pecans and mix using a fork. Mix until combined, not overworked.
- Shape dough into a circle, ¾” thick. Cut into 8 wedges.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet 2” apart. Brush with remaining 2 Tbsp whipping cream.
- Bake at 375°F for 18-22 minutes.
- Cool on wire rack.
- While scones are cooling, make your glaze.
- Juice 1 of the zested Sumo Citrus oranges to obtain 1 Tbsp of juice.
- In small bowl, combine icing sugar and Sumo Citrus juice, whisking until smooth.
- Drizzle over cooled scones and serve.

- 1 cup + 2 Tbsp whipping cream
- ½ cup Farm Boy™ Raw Pecans toasted and roughly chopped
- ½ cup icing sugar
- 1 Tbsp Sumo Citrus orange juice
