This may just be our new favourite caramelized onion dip!
The key to this recipe is to cook the onions low and slow to bring out the sweetness due to caramelization. There is no way to rush this process, so if you’re going to spend the time doing this, may I suggest you make extra onions that you can use in other things like your favourite burger or grilled cheese sandwich? You will be glad you did!
Enjoy this dip with chips or veggies. It is just delicious!
Directions
- In large frying pan over medium heat, combine onions and Farm Boy™ Vegetable Cooking Oil.
- Stir in salt and sugar and reduce heat to low.
- Cook, stirring every so often, until onions are soft and deep golden brown, about 45 minutes.
- Remove pan from heat and let onions cool down for 15 minutes.
- In medium bowl, combine caramelized onions, Farm Boy™ 14% Sour Cream, Farm Boy™ Cream Cheese, Farm Boy™ Garlic Flowers, chives, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir well and refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving with Farm Boy™ Sea Salt Potato Chips and veggies.

- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 1/2 cups Farm Boy™ 14% Sour Cream room temperature
- 1 pack Farm Boy™ Cream Cheese Product (250 g) room temperature
- 1 1/2 tsp Farm Boy™ Garlic Flowers
- 1/4 cup chives or parsley chopped, plus more for garnish
- salt and pepper to taste
- Farm Boy™ Sea Salt Potato Chips (185 g) or fresh veggies
